The Overview Map is a small map in the top-left-hand corner of the Map Display. It shows a birds-eye view of features (like the city streets) on a broad scale. A red box shows the extent of the current Map Display (this may be hard to see if you are zoomed in really close).
Overview Map You can use the Overview Map to pan to other areas.
  1. Move your mouse over the Overview Map. The cursor will change to a hand.
  2. Click on another point in the Overview Map. The red box will move to where you just clicked and the Map Display will pan to that location.
This button toggles the Overview (birds-eye view) Map in the upper left hand corner of the map. By default, the Overview Map is turned on when you start most Map Services. Click once on this button with the mouse and the Overview Map with disappear. Click again and the Overview Map will reappear.
