The Lafayette Parish Law Enforcement Agencies are providing information concerning local crime statistics to the general public through this web site. Users may request applicable data in relation to proximity to a specified address or known location, and will then be able to produce maps using this information.
“Crime icons” are intended to indicate the municipal block in which a crime allegedly occurred. Crime icons do not reflect the exact location of any particular crime, nor are they proof of any crime (reported alleged crimes hereinafter referred to as “incidents”). The supplied data can be sorted by incident type, time period or specific geographic boundary. Examples of geographic boundaries include council districts, Downtown Development Authority, City boundaries, and police and Sheriff patrol beats. The incident types that are reported herein include homicide, armed robbery, simple robbery, vehicle burglary, commercial burglary, residential burglary, theft, assault, narcotics violation, criminal damage to property, vehicle theft, arson, traffic accident with fatality and traffic accident with no fatality. The supplied data will reflect incidents reported within the ninety (90) days immediately prior to user requests.
